Born in Portland, Oregon, Doug credits his parents with shaping two values that have stayed with him throughout his life. His mother modeled care for people, while his father emphasized the importance of hard work. His own early work experience included being a paperboy. He attended Centennial High School and later Portland State University, graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. His high school band director also became an important influence by setting high expectations for dedication and loyalty.
Across a career spanning more than three decades, Doug has relied on discipline, sacrifice, work ethic, adaptability, and execution. His stated goal has been to grow businesses without compromising integrity, customers, employees, or his own standards. His accomplishments include Outstanding CEO of the Year and Top Production Seller in the West. He continues to study practical business ideas and apply useful lessons, best practices, consulting insights, and focus-group feedback to development and decision making.
Doug also devotes time to community and service-oriented activities. His current interests include supporting the Ovarian Cancer Society, helping Little League, and assisting a local music venue behind the scenes with bringing bands into the community. He is also interested in finding meaningful ways to support people as they age, whether through time, resources, or personal involvement.
Family and music remain central to Doug’s personal life. His greatest joy is spending time with his grandchildren, and drumming continues to be one of his favorite pursuits. He enjoys travel, from destinations such as Cabo to simple time near a local river, and he appreciates the role technology can play in connecting people. That interest is reflected in Forever Connected, an app concept he has started building around preserving photos, videos, events, gifts, and personal messages for the people who matter most.
